Bag Lady

Well I have a few bags to show you! I made two identical bags like this (see Anna's tutorial for instructions) a while back but kept forgetting to post a picture. I made one for my mom and one for my grandmother.

For my stepdad Mark, I used Anna's tutorial except I didn't gather the background fabric. I used my machine to write a message on the inside of the bag.

I like to keep those tiny plastic bags that extra buttons or thread come in when I buy a new pair of pants and the like. I was keeping them in a sandwich size Ziploc bag and decided to make a small fabric bag with a snap closure for them. Below is what I came up with. I didn't use a pattern - I just improvised!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Fall Wreath

Did you happen to see this gorgeous fall wreath over at Flamingo Toes? I was so in love with it that I followed her tutorial and made my own!
I picked up the wreath at Walmart for $3.50! I made the fabric rosettes from my stash of course. For the "FALL" pendants, I picked up the stick-on letters and this scrapbooking paper from Michael's for under $4 total!
Bazzill Basics Paper "Rope Swing"
To hang the pendants, I used this Camel yarn that I think I got from my grandmother.
Needleloft Yarn - Camel
Not bad for under $8! I'm linking up to Made by You Monday!

Brayden's Baby Clothes Quilt - Finished!

Just a quick post to show you the finished baby clothes quilt I delivered Saturday! [Click on the pictures for a larger image.]

The little boy's name is Brayden Saylor, which I put on the back. I used Elizabeth Hartman's instructions for making the letters.

WIP 10/12

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

I've decided to start making lists for WIP Wednesday like some other people do. (And please forgive the iPhone pictures in this post!)

In Progress This Week

  • Brayden's baby clothes quilt - I'm delivering this on Saturday and I know Sarah (Brayden's mom) has seen my blog before, so I don't want to spoil the surprise. I will share the two "sneak peeks" I sent her yesterday:

    Ongoing Projects

    • Mystery Quilt at Quilters Club of America - Directions are posted every Friday. Here are my fabric groupings:

      Completed Projects Ready for Quilting

      Completed Projects Ready for Binding

      Mystery Quilt Craziness

My MIL Carole asked me to participate in a mystery quilt that is just starting on the Quilters Club of America website. You have to join to view the details, but it's free to join. Carole's sister Kathy is also going to join us in making this quilt!

I'm making a lap quilt version, so I had to pick 18 jelly roll strips and pick a background color that contrasts all of them.  I chose white as my background and I'm using these fabrics:

Should be fun! Are you participating? Have you made a mystery quilt before?

      WIP 10/5 {My Birthday!}

Ok I know it's no longer Wednesday, but it was my birthday so I'm allowed a pass, right?

I'm in the home stretch of Brayden's baby clothes quilt and wanted to show you a (really) rough draft of the top (sorry for the cell phone picture):

And a few letters I pieced for the back, spelling out his name:

I plan to have this done by Monday night, so I'll post the completed quilt then.

      Thanks for stopping by!
