Oh My Stars Giveaway Winners

First, I want to thank all of you entered my first giveaway! I had so much fun reading your comments.  Now for the 2 winners of the FQ bundles:

Winner #1 is Joanna!

 Winner #2 is Melinda!

But wait - there's more! I picked 6 other winners to receive 5" and 10" squares of these fabrics too!

WIP Wednesday 6/22

[Looking for my giveaway? It's here.]

For WIP Wednesday, I have my windowpane quilt to show - this time it's pieced and I've started playing with border ideas (as you can see on the left):

I've also started piecing squares for the backing - I'm still brainstorming on the pattern though.

Now the burning question: How should I quilt this? I'd love to hear any ideas you have!

I made this little cutie using this super easy tutorial over at Maevy's Corner.

One-Yard Wonders: Laptop Sleeve

[Looking for my giveaway? It's here.]

If you follow Pink Chalk Studio, you know that they have a sew-along going on all year long using One-Yard Wonders by Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hoskins.

After seeing all the cute projects they were putting out every week, I decided to get myself a copy of the book.  Here's my first creation - the laptop sleeve:

The fabric is Michael Miller's Bright Paisley Black & I love how it coordinates with my blue laptop!

Oh My Stars!

Please note: This giveaway has ended. See the winners here.

A while back I purchased a ton of fabric from a woman who is no longer physically able to quilt (at a HUGE discount). One stack of fabric contained several yards of different colored star fabrics and fabric with fireworks, presumably for a July 4th themed quilt. With July 4th right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to give some of this fabric away!

I'm giving away two sets of fat quarters from these fabrics - that's right, TWO winners! I will ship internationally.

This giveaway is open until Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 8:00 pm EST. At the close of the giveaway, the two winners will be chosen by Random.org and notified via e-mail.

To enter (required), just leave a comment on this post telling me where you are writing from.  For additional entries, you can do any or all of the following and leave a separate comment on this post for each that you do:

1. Become a Google Friend Connect, e-mail, or RSS follower (or tell me if you already are); and/or

2. Blog or tweet about this giveaway and give me a link to the post or tweet in a comment.

Easy, right? I'm linking up to Craft Buds' Giveaway Roundup and Quilt Giveaways.

New Quilt-Along!

I've decided to join the Double Wedding Ring quilt-along hosted by Kaelin at The Plaid Scottie!

DWR Quilt Along

I've been wanting to try that pattern for a while now, and will probably stick to black and white. Speaking of The Plaid Scottie, I like how Kaelin keeps a running "To Do" list in her sidebar so much that I'm going to do that too! Thanks Kaelin!

Royal Mail

I received some Royal Mail today!

Kate over at Kate's Arty Bits Blog was so sweet to send me some of her scraps - all the way from the UK! For free!

I'll definitely have some fun playing with these - thank you Kate!!

Windowpane Quilt

Here’s my submission for W.i.P. Wednesday at Freshly Pieced this week:

I’ve finished the 20 squares and decided on the layout but haven’t sewn it all together yet. It’s loosely based on this quilt and this quilt. I've posted close-ups of the fabric on flickr.

Labeled, Binded & Delivered

(Get it? Instead of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"?) I finally finished the baby clothes quilt today - this is quilt #3 for me!

Laundromat Dramat-ics

I'm at laundromat washing the baby clothes quilt I finished the other day (but have not yet delivered) because it's too big for my very basic washer & dryer. This will be my third quilt, but the first one that I've actually washed before delivering. Is it weird that I feel like it's my baby and I keep peering through the little round window to make sure it's ok?

Delivering the Baby Today!

I'm less than 6 hours from" delivering" (sorry, I love a good pun!) the baby clothes quilt I've had in the works - all that's left is to attach the binding to the back and tack down a few sleeves and collars on the shirts. The details are in my original post about the quilt.  I'm linking up to "W.i.P. Wednesday" to show these pictures (please forgive the quality of these pictures - I snapped them with my iPhone). Here's the front:

And the back (all I did was add the hospital blanket to an already pieced and quilted comforter):

I'll post the final pictures later today! Don't forget to check out other projects people have added for W.i.P. Wednesday at Freshly Pieced - just click on the button below!

Tokyo Subway Map Quilt Underway

I've finally finished cutting and laying out the 1,600 2"x 2" pieces of fabric required to make Elizabeth Hartman's Tokyo Subway Map Quilt, a quilt-along she posted on her blog Oh, Fransson! I'm making this one for myself and am really excited to see how it turns out!

"Bapron" for Kimberlee

Today I whipped up a "bapron" using this tutorial on Jess's blog Craftiness is Not Optional. So easy and very popular when my pregnant friend Kimberlee unwrapped it tonight at dinner!
